Ironman South Africa beckons!

Team K-Swiss are less than 10 days away from IMSA 2010. The team are focussed and intent on putting up a good show down in Port Elizabeth next weekend. Besides the racing, team members will be there to show their support for the title sponsor, K-Swiss who have a booth at the expo preceeding the Ironman. K-Swiss have all the best and latest shoes on the stand and team members will be present at times to answer questions and offer advice. Make sure you visit the K-Swiss booth down at Ironman. They have also partnered with the new international Triathlon Magazine being launched down at Ironman, TRIATHLON PLUS SA…Be sure you come around and meet the k-krew.

From a race perspective, we are all systems go…Anton Storm will be looking to lead out the swim, steady himself on the bike leg and finish the 42km run faster than he has ever done before. At least he has the right shoes on to do the job this time round. Still young, he has many years left in which to ply his long distance triathlon career. Carl Storm comes into the race having suffered from a broken collar-bone. He will be there giving his all but understands that the preperation has been far from ideal. Carl is a great supporter of our team and no doubt, he will be chatting up a storm with everybody he meets (he KNOWS A LOT OF PEOPLE, people!!!) Helen Buley, our lady team member will be flying the flag amongst the fairer sex trying to secure a top spot amongst the SA Elite ladies. Her prep has gone well, but we all know that the Ironman is a very differet beast, so come finish chute time, we hope to see her in the mix. Team Mgr and member, Glen Gore will be there in force to add support and get as much exposure as he can for all our great sponsors…If he has a good day, he will be there or thereabouts no doubt!! Thanks to all our sponsors – you can follow us all live on www.ironman.com on the 25th April…Thanks again Sponsors, without YOU, all our racing would not be possible…

Henri Schoeman Shines at SA Swim Champs

Team K-Swiss member, 18yr old Henri Schoeman continues to show us why he is considered one of the fastest (if not the current best Triathlon swimmer in SA) by winning the SA Youth u18 200m Butterfly title at the Telkom SA Swimming Championships being held in Durban at present. His time of 2:06 gave him the victory and a well earned swimming national title..He also competed in the 400m freestyle and posted a superb time of 4:06 for the 8 lapper at the Kings Park Olympic Swimming Pool. Not to be outdone, another Team K-Swiss brand ambassador, Riaan Schoeman (the older sibling) scorched through for a 3:51 in the same event…..He is looking to win the 400m IM National title later on this week. Well done guys! we are proud of you.

Team K-Swiss continue winning ways

Team K-Swiss continued to dominate some of the local (South African) multisport events this past Weekend. Our very own GP and Ironlady, Helen Buley managed to win the Compendium Multisport Series Duathlon Event down at Suncoast Casino yesterday, easily taking out the victory, to start this series off with a bang….Considering she rode 180km on the saturday prior and ran 30km on the morning of the race, just shows you the kind of form she is in right now…..

The other half of the team were down in East London supporting our bike  sponsor (FELT) as well as nutitional partner at the Sunshine Coast Triathlon held at Orient Beach yesterday morning. True to form, Anton Storm lead out of the swim with Glen in 3rd place just behind…A few tactical errors and some “not so good cycling legs”  from Team Captain, Glen Gore, allowed the winner (some dude!!) to get away from Anton on the bike. Not to worry, using this race as a tune-up for the Ironman in April, Anton rode and ran strong to secure the 2nd spot whilst Glen came up with a solid 3rd spot for the team after 2hrs of intense racing…Considering that this race is to be televised on Supersport shortly, this was a great media exposure opportunity for all our sponsors and the team…

Next Race is the big one, Ironman South Africa down in Port Elizabeth at the end of April….

Well done Team K-Swiss, keep that flag flying
